The event
Yesterday, Thursday 11 December 2025, at the conference room of the Bruno Salvadori Regional Library (via Torre del Lebbroso 2, Aosta), Alice Brambilla and Caterina Ferrari, researchers of the Biodiversity, Scientific Research and Environmental Education Service of the Gran Paradiso National Park, they held an interesting conference.
The changing climate
The event, titled "Not Just Ice: The Effects of Rising Temperatures on Animal Populations," focused on the contribution contained in the book "Beyond the Glaciers: Climate Crisis and New Balances in Gran Paradiso National Park," published on the occasion of the International Year for Glacier Conservation, proclaimed by UNESCO.
Not just ibex
The two speakers specifically highlighted the effects of rising temperatures on ibex population dynamics and invertebrate communities, a situation that can no longer be ignored to avoid worsening consequences.
