Administrative appeal
Gun law doesn't allow for distractions if you want to stay up to date, but you're never bored, as rulings are practically a daily occurrence. After the controversial case of a man's rifle license being revoked, for slapping his brother – while drunk, it's the turn of the Bolzano Regional Administrative Court (TAR), which instead restored the license to a hunter. The latter's appeal, following the Police Headquarters' negative decision, was successful.
The reconstruction of the dispute
How did the events unfold? The hunting license was revoked after an argument between the man and his neighbor, with the woman's dog becoming the bone of contention. According to the neighbor's account, after the dog's walk, the hunter "almost" attacked her and threatened her with a stone, underscoring their long-standing, uneasy relationship.
Lack of other elements
The Carabinieri's intervention subsequently led to the seizure of the man's weapons, resulting in the revocation of his hunting license. The Regional Administrative Court (TAR) annulled the entire case, explaining that the withdrawal of the gun license was based solely on the woman's testimony and without any other evidence to justify the measure. A more thorough assessment would have been necessary.
