Alme
Three initiatives from the province of Bergamo illustrate the diverse commitment of the Paladini del Territorio (Territorial Paladins ), from waterway conservation to school education, and even exploring the natural world. The Almè branch of Federcaccia, in collaboration with the Villa d'Almè branch of the FIDC (Italian Hunting Federation), cleaned up the banks of the Brembo River between the two municipalities. Collaboration between the branches allowed for more volunteers to be deployed, making the cleanup of the area more effective. The Municipality of Villa d'Almè ensured the proper disposal of the collected waste.
Ardesio
In Ardesio, the local Federcaccia chapter took 24 fourth-grade students on an experience that combined classroom theory, with slides, trophies, horns, and antlers brought directly by the hunters, with hands-on outdoor activities. Each child received a seedling of a species particularly beneficial to the local birdlife and planted it with their own hands in a public park. The next day, the children immortalized the day in a series of drawings.
Casazza
The Casazza Federcaccia Section opened the doors of an amateur thrush farm to fourth- and fifth-grade students from the municipality's primary schools, allowing them to observe the entire reproductive cycle firsthand—from pair selection to hatching and feeding the chicks. It was a morning that introduced the younger ones to the local fauna and hunting traditions of the Bergamo area. Thanks to the Federcaccia Sections of Almè, Villa d'Almè, Ardesio, and Casazza, the Municipality of Villa d'Almè, and the ERSAF of Curno for their support of the activities (source: UNA Foundation).
