The 24th edition of the "Hunting, Fishing and Nature" with 14.000 visitors (up 8 compared to 2025) from across Central and Northern Italy. The number of exhibitors, initiatives, and conferences is also growing, thanks to the significant contribution of the Veneto Region, the Province of Belluno, and Veneto Agricoltura. The UNA Foundation's work in raising awareness of biodiversity and environmental issues related to the impact of human activity is noteworthy.
Training and education
Children were the protagonists for the fourth consecutive year at Longarone Fiere Dolomiti. On "Hunting, Fishing, and Nature" Sunday, the awards ceremony for the "Adopt a Stream, Adopt a Fish" competition, organized by the Fantastiche Dolomiti Foundation and the Belluno Fishermen's Association (APS). This third edition began by bringing environmental training and education to schools. The fishermen explained to the youngsters how the river habitat works and what life forms exist within it. They then gave the children free rein, asking them to draw. 140 entries were submitted to the fair and displayed during the "Hunting, Fishing, and Nature" days for visitors to vote on. We will therefore have to wait a few days for the public jury's results, while the technical jury's awards were presented at the fair. First place went to Micaela Tremonti, a fifth-grade student from Vigo di Cadore Primary School, for her excellent representation of fishing and environmental protection. Roberto Baccilega of the 4th class of Calalzo (second place) follows in the ranking for the richness of subjects that best represent water and the environment and Milo Tremonti of the 4th class of Vigo for the movement and application of color that demonstrate the attention to nature.
Taxidermy
Enriching the fair's offerings and piquing the interest of both adults and children was the 22nd National Taxidermy Championship, which brought 98 creations to the "Hunting, Fishing, and Nature" program, in addition to the stuffed animals featured in environmental compositions (dioramas), created by Italy's most renowned master taxidermists. The national championship, with Austrian Stephan Weigl as international judge, saw Dario Miglioranza triumph in the bird category, a creation that also earned him the Best of Show award. First prize in the other categories went to multiple award-winning artists Paolo Zanandrea and Manuel Bianchi, and Franco Gasparella. The Best Landscape award went to Mico Visentini.
Fishing competitions
On Saturday, 149 anglers from Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige, and Lombardy enlivened the Maè stream. Two trout fishing competitions were organized by Fishing Basin No. 6. The team competition with artificial lures and spinning was won by Marco Manfrè and Allan Bottega from Treviso, and the individual competition with live bait, which saw Naclerio Giuliano from Belluno emerge victorious; all three are from the "La Marcandola" team. Sunday morning saw a record 67 children, accompanied by their parents, compete and, above all, have fun fishing at the Malcom pond, with prizes for everyone. On Sunday, following the 2025/2026 hunting season report, the best trophies from across the province of Belluno and the Treviso Alpine Reserves were judged. Of the 1.129 exhibited, 107 deer, roe deer, mouflon, and chamois were judged, earning a total of 52 medals, including one gold medal, which qualifies for registration in the international register of wild animals from around the world in Budapest.
Target shooting
It's worth noting that the Monte Serva Nord shooting range, equipped thanks to a partnership with the Tiro a Segno Nazionale – Ponte nelle Alpi Section, has attracted considerable interest from hunters and gun manufacturers. With shooting ranges at 200, 300, 500, and 750 meters, it represents a unique added value among industry trade shows and is located just over a 5-minute drive from the exhibition center.
