We report what was published online by Andrea Antonini, regional councilor of Marche with responsibility for hunting: “I gathered the regional representatives of Federcaccia, Libera Caccia, Enalcaccia, Arci Caccia, ItalCaccia and ANUU, around the table of the control room of the hunting associations of the Marches. We have reached an important preliminary agreement on the regional hunting calendar for the 2023-2024 season to be approved by the Giunta in the next few days. A fundamental point shared by all the hunting associations was that of adopting a calendar that could offer the hunting world of the Marches greater protection of a hunting exercise as broad as possible and without interruptions. The discussion of the Control Room mainly concerned the rigidity of the ISPRA opinion on the proposal of the Marche calendar for the 23-24 season, the recent modification of the Key Concepts for some migratory species and the possibility of appeals by environmental associations, increasingly common nationwide. With respect to this context, the representatives of the hunting associations of the Marche region unanimously recognized that the recent sentence of the Marche Regional Administrative Court no. 524/2022 must be taken as a point of reference on which to move the choices of the Region also for this hunting season".
The councilor then added: “Therefore, Federcaccia, Libera Caccia, Enalcaccia, Arci Caccia, ItalCaccia and ANUU have reached a common and preliminary synthesis on a hunting calendar which, not deviating from the contents of the recent sentence of the Marche TAR, will in any case guarantee a hunting season as wide as possible. common among all the representatives of the regional hunting associations was to give the hunters of the Marches a guarantee of avoiding a possible appeal to the Council of State which in 2022 suspended hunting in the Marches in December for many species. The only point in which a unanimous agreement has not yet been found among the regional hunting associations concerned the choice to include the wood pigeon in the pre-opening days in September or to extend the collection to January 31 without pre-opening".
Finally, the commissioner concluded: “I know many hunters, whose union symbol I don't know (and I don't care), who constantly show me the need to be certain about the start and end times of the hunting period. Last year was a ballet of appeals, suspensions, resolutions and sentences. They don't want it to happen again. I believe that as a regional administrator with all the hunting associations we have a great responsibility: putting pride aside, taking a step back together and taking two steps forward together. And the calendar hypothesized yesterday goes in this direction. An act of maturity on the part of all hunting associations. Which will ultimately satisfy every enthusiast".
