A heated debate
The climate surrounding the debate on hunting reform is more heated than ever. In addition to the words of the Honorable Sergio Berlato, added those of Giulia Sottoriva, president of CONFAVI (Confederation of Italian Hunting Associations). The reference went to the control room of the hunting world: "Excuse me, but do any of you know what happened to the hunting officials in the control room? As you may know, the Senate is debating several proposed amendments to Law 157 of 1992, most of which are of no interest to the hunting world.".
The accusations against the control room
Sottoriva underlined how the proposals of CONFAVI and ACR were promptly opposed: "These proposals have nothing to do with the ones we presented through the Association for Rural Culture, which we supported with 504.230 signatures, including from CONFAVI. These proposals were immediately opposed and sided with by most of the hunting leaders in the steering committee, the same leaders who, however, either due to a lack of courage, competence, or will, did not present better proposals than ours.".
The damage that the hunting world risks
Then there is a suspicion insinuated without mincing words: “Unless the proposals being debated in the Senate are those presented by the control room, which, if approved, would seriously damage the Italian hunting community. Such as banning all forms of hunting in all areas of state-owned maritime property, or banning the use of lead shot in all wetlands in Italy, including fields temporarily flooded by downpours. But are we expecting that if the Italian Parliament approves this nonsense, the first to walk away will be the hunting leaders in the control room? And do you know why? Because they're used to throwing stones and then hiding their hands.".
