Il single judge of the Ischia section of the Court of Naples decided to sentence one guard of the LIPU (Italian Bird Protection League) accused of false ideology. The trial took place after it was discovered what the guard himself had committed against a hunter, a behavior that was punished with two years of imprisonment (it must however be emphasized that the sentence is suspended).
According to what was reconstructed by the prosecution, the accused falsified the hunter's signature after an investigation regarding the hunting activity. The victim has always confirmed that he does not recognize his signature in the one present in the report. It was therefore decided to appoint a forensic graphologist to come to the head of the matter and the expert stated that the signature had been affixed and drawn up by the guard of the LIPU with high probability.
Conviction was therefore inevitable. Two other guards of the animal rights association who had been indicted were instead acquitted of the charges. Among other things, the man sentenced to two years in prison must also pay 1500 euros for legal costs, without forgetting the damages to be paid to the civil party. As the defense of the civil party explained, it is about a precedent of great importance to be inspired by when examining situations of the same type.
