Huge turnout at EOS show '25 since the morning. Italian shooting showed up with the six medals from Paris 2024 and hunting with an international conference on sustainable hunting for women
Huge turnout for the first day of EOS – European outdoor show '25 at VeronafiereInitial counts say over 18 thousand tickets were sold. To facilitate entry without queues, the organization had planned to double the entrances and metal detectors, as well as entry to the turnstiles from 8 am. So the crowd crowded outside the 4 pavilions before entering. Inside they found what they wanted: many new things waiting for them, exhibitors happy to provide all the information and also opportunities for healthy fun, cultural growth and leisure. Everything and more: shooting, hunting, outdoor and fishing, proudly and worthily represented. More than 400 companies for about 700 brands. EOS show, at its fourth edition, presented itself at its best.
At the 13pm inauguration, the Italian shooters of clay pigeon shooting and target shooting who won medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics: Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti gold in Mixed Skeet, Silvana Stanco silver in Trap, Federico Nilo Maldini and Paolo Monna, silver and bronze in P10, Davide Franceschetti, bronze P4 in Free Pistol caliber .22 SH1. There were also the president of FITAV and ISSF Luciano Rossi and the president of UITS, Costantino Vespasiano who showed closeness to the visitors and exhibitors, because the athletes are champions who often compete side by side with amateurs.
The shooter of the Paralympic Sports Group Defence, Davide Franceschetti, was the protagonist of a nice gesture during the awards ceremony of the EOS Trophy Air Pistol competition that is taking place for the second year at the fair and has seen 72 shooters compete, that is, the maximum possible number. Franceschetti handed over the special prize that goes to the winner to the second place winner, Marco Pusinich from Vicenza.
"It's right this way," he explained. "I took part in the contest to have a nice day with some friends and colleagues, and to be the spokesperson for a message that helps promote Paralympic shooting. The EOS Trophy is a very nice tournament that pits shooters who have a different experience and background at a competitive level than mine. For this reason, the one who deserves the prize is Marco, a top-level shooter who fought on equal terms today until the last shot." The 10-meter Pistol competition was won by Michele Botti from Soave (VR), ahead of Alfio Giubbilei from Fucecchio (FI) and Alice Bruno from Treviso. Tomorrow it's the turn of the 10-meter Rifle, while Monday will be the turn of a special event, the Italian Journalists Championship.
