A very precise choice
Federcaccia has issued a firm and harsh condemnation for yet another incident of poaching involving two northern bald ibises. A senseless and unmotivated gesture which cannot have any justification and which, in addition to the serious naturalistic damage to a species that is the object of a major effort to be saved from extinction, exposes Italian hunters to the condemnation of international society, providing our adversaries and detractors with further elements to portray us as an evil to be eliminated.
A precious species
Poaching at any level, and even more so when it involves such precious and delicate species, is not a prank, a "mistake," or a superficial act. It is a serious crime and as such must be prosecuted.
