No to the regional resolution
Cold shower for Ligurian hunters after yesterday's ruling, Tuesday 20 January 2026, of the TAR which rejected the resolution of the regional council of last 10 July which provided for the derogation of finches and starlingsIn detail, there were almost 26 thousand finches (25.984 to be precise) and over 11 thousand starlings (11.058).
The expenses to be paid
Among the other provisions of the administrative judges, there is the order that the Liguria Region pay €4 in legal costs, in addition to general expenses and reimbursement of the unified contribution (the total is expected to be around €6.500).
The LAC's reaction
The reaction of one of the recurring associations, the LAC (League for the Abolition of Hunting), is understandable: “A shame justified, at the time, as a judicious exploitation of a small number of animals, in strictly controlled conditions, despite the reduced hunting staff in Liguria.".
