Serious disappointment
Hunting has begun in the most protected area of the Alps, with various specializations, albeit exclusive, fur or feather. Regarding typical Alpine birdlife, the Brescia Provincial Hunting Federation, in its "Cacciapensieri" column, noted with great disappointment that, although the Districts had completed all the procedures—six spring censuses and three summer censuses—as of yesterday, the harvest decrees for the rock partridge species.
It's ISPRA's fault
This is the association's point of view: "Because, the Lombardy Region tells us, ISPRA has not yet validated the results of the censuses, conducted with the assistance of wildlife technicians or a surveillance service, and therefore has not yet produced the numbers and formalities for possible sampling."
Best times for hunting
The note continues: "We believe it should take no more than a month from the date of data transmission to issue a decree, and we also believe it is our hunters' right to be able to hunt within the timeframe available for this purpose, given that hunting is already allowed for a very limited period, only on Wednesdays and Sundays in October and November, with early closure upon reaching the permitted harvest" (source: Federcaccia Brescia – Cacciapensieri).
