Opposite position
The Umbrian regional councilors of the League Valerio Mancini, Manuela Puletti and Marco Castellari, announce a motion with which they ask for the commitment of the Palazzo Donini Council to "express a contrary position regarding the establishment of the Catria, Nerone and Alpe della Luna National Park, a project which would affect the internal areas of the Upper Tiber Valley, Upper Umbria and the Marche valleys”.
“Environmental madness”
“In light of the event scheduled for January 26th with the title 'The Park that is not'' with which – they explain – a hypothesis already rejected by a pronouncement of the Legislative Assembly of Umbria in the previous legislature will be put back into play by initiative of the then opposition councilors Mancini and Fiorini, of the no reiterated by the municipal administration of Città di Castello and of the opposition also of the neighboring administrations, we will ask the current council to reiterate the no to an environmentalist madness that would end up damaging our farmers, the breeders and all operators of agro-silvo-pastoral activities, all subjects who have invested in their activities and who have the knowledge, tradition and culture of the environment, of biodiversity, as well as the right to agricultural business even in the most remote and distant places, in full compliance with current regulations".
The difficulties of operators and institutions
Mancini, who is also president of the Agriculture and Environment Commission, and the councilors Puletti and Castellari ask the Council to "clarify its position with respect to the establishment of the protected area, therefore a no from the Council to the new park, because - they explain - enough and those who are there advance, also given the critical issues that determine the difficulties of operators and institutions in the management of the Valnerina and Trasimeno parks, where the losers are businesses and citizens helpless in the face of a bureaucracy that puts businesses and farmers in difficulty" (source : Regional Council of Umbria).
