Well beyond the legal deadlines
It is always said that patience is the virtue of the strong, but in Padua every limit was definitely exceeded. It took the Prefecture and the Ministry of the Interior almost a year to examine a request for firearms license, when instead the law provides that the deadline is no more than 120 days. This is why the Veneto TAR had to intervene.
Who made the request?
The administrative judges have condemned the two entities involved which will now have to bear the legal costs and will have 30 days to establish whether the request can be accepted. Specifically, this is the owner of a precious metals bank, in need of a firearms license for personal defense reasons.
The dates of the story
The silence was therefore deemed illegitimate. The story began at the end of 2022 when the man submitted the application for release to the Prefecture. After almost a year there was communication of the release itself, a process which, however, never took place. The appeal to the Regional Administrative Court has fortunately brought order to a story that is, to say the least, peculiar.
