After approving the budget forecast and membership fees for 2024, the Council addressed the delicate issue of reimbursement of expenses and allowances paid to sports managers and attendance fees payable to volunteers in compliance with the provisions of the new sports law.
Awards to athletes
Furthermore, the participation bonuses for the technical staff for the second half of 2023 were confirmed as well as the performance bonuses (for an amount of 100.000 euros) intended for athletes according to the new principles established at the time on the proposal of the federal consultant and Olympic champion Niccolò Campriani, taking into account not only the results achieved but also the performance demonstrated in the person's study and growth activities.
Safeguarding Office
Finally, the General Secretary Walter De Giusti reported and recalled that the procedural process has been started, following input from CONI and the Paralympic Committee to all sports federations, for the establishment of a Safeguarding Office for the prevention and combating of abuse, violence and discrimination against members, on the basis of a regulation which all sections and the UITS itself will be required to comply with and which the guidelines will soon be disclosed (source: UITS).
