The Italian hunting farms are experiencing a pleasant evolutionary boom in recent times, supported by numerous hunters who consider them an excellent solution to spend a hunting weekend in the company of old friends.
Hunting evolves, and year after year it knows new techniques and new forms. One of the most popular of recent times is the one that can be practiced inside the hunting farms, which have multiplied after the release of law 157 of 92.
Thanks to this rule, many previously uncultivated or disadvantaged lands have been transformed into income opportunities for owners and the possibility of non-mediated contact with nature for hunters.
On the other hand, that of the hunting farm is an excellent solution that breaks down the old hunting frontiers, allowing the creation of effective synergies between farmhouses and nature. The customer on the other hand, be it a lover of hunting or more simply a lover of the outdoors, will be able to live for a few days in the countryside, away from the chaos of everyday life, indulging in beautiful walks, unforgettable excursions, or excursions. comfortable and satisfying hunting.
These companies usually originate in marginal areas. The location that has not made possible the effective start-up of a good agricultural and tourist activity, becomes an excellent added value for those who transform the farm into a hunting farm. After all, visitors are looking for just this: peace, relaxation and nature, all elements that cannot ignore the marginality of the areas, perhaps rich in wilderness and vegetation.
The manager of the activity is therefore required to create an oasis not only quiet, but also well inhabited of game, which together with the good reception, will be an important reason for success. It is true that all those typical elements of classic tourist accommodation should not be underestimated: good accommodation and excellent catering, which will not only ensure customer loyalty but also allow visits to be seasonally adjusted, extending the tourist season.
Diffusion on the Italian territory
And it seems that this solution fully satisfies hunters, at least if we take a look at the spread of hunting farms throughout the Italian territory, with a greater concentration in central and northern Italy. Tuscany is the region that must hold the record for the number and quality of hunting farms present in its territory, followed by Piedmont, Umbria, Emilia Romagna, Puglia, Marche, Sardinia, Lazio and Basilicata.
The periods during which the visitor can devote himself to the much-loved hunting will be those provided for by the regional regulations, without any exception and depending on the territorial structure and the typical game of the area, it will be possible to devote himself to the hunting of pheasant, hare, ducks , partridges, quail, wood pigeon, thrush, woodcock, snipe, wild boar, fallow deer, roe deer, red deer, mouflon and fox.
Hunting farms: the advantages
For their part, hunters like this new hunting opportunity. After all, one of the most valuable elements is the fact that hunting within a private company allows the hunter to better use his available time, which is increasingly limited. In this case, the lover of hunting can be offered to buy game quotas to be used over the course of a whole year. By living a hunting farm, you can also spend a day with friends, without fear of running into a territory with particular prohibitions, or without the fear of damaging the freedom of those who love walking in nature.
Another not insignificant value of the hunting companies is given by the fact that, unlike the other territories, the sedentary game does not become scarce as it is regulated annually and well managed, without for this having lost the connotations of wildness. Finally, a good hunting farm, to the passion for hunting is able to add the passion for good food and a good welcome, offering the hunter the opportunity to periodically meet with his group of friends to spend a few days of quiet. carefree.
If you also count that many structures offer services not only for hunters, but also organize beautiful excursions for accompanying persons, you will be able to understand the success of these activities that are slowly being born throughout the territory and are the spokespersons of a new contact between man. and nature.
The law
The law of 11 February 1992, n. 157, for the protection of homeothermic wildlife and for hunting. Specifically, the law deals with hunting wildlife farms and hunting farms under art. 16.
In point 1 the establishment of wildlife hunting companies is authorized and regulated for prevalent naturalistic and fauna purposes. The concessions, it says, must be accompanied by conservation and environmental restoration programs in order to guarantee the naturalistic and faunal objective and it is emphasized that within these companies hunting is allowed on the days indicated by the hunting calendar and according to the settlement and abatement plans. It is not permitted, according to the law, to bring wildlife into these farms after August 31st.
In agri - tourism - hunting farms it is instead allowed to enter and kill farmed game for the whole hunting season.
Point 2 it is entirely dedicated to defining the duties of the hunting tourism companies. They should preferably be located in areas with little wildlife and arise in areas of disadvantaged agriculture.
The hunting farms still have a long way to go, especially in terms of communication, but it is true that they offer the hunter an alternative solution to the usual hunting trip.
