THE WILDLIFE |
The legal definition of wild fauna stated in 157/92 is the following "set of species of mammals and birds of which there are populations that live in a state of natural freedom, permanently or temporarily, on the national territory or stay there for short periods".
This definition carries within itself a series of very specific contents:
All species with the aforementioned requirements are protected in various forms with the exception of rats, mice, voles and moles. The methods of protection are differentiated; there are species whose protection activity is total and especially for e which is possible a legal withdrawal whose consistency is defined. The law proposes a specific list of both, defining for the latter the methods, times and the maximum number that can be taken in the interest of safeguarding the populations.
