The photographic exhibition "The Italian tradition of skeet shooting in Olympic competitions 1956-2016" was inaugurated yesterday at the University of Urbino, conceived and developed in collaboration with Flakes Foundation. The champions of the Italian national team attended the inauguration Giovanni Pelielo, 4 Olympic medals; Jessica Rossi, Gold in London 2012; Marco Innocenti, Silver in Rio 2016. The athletes, moderated by the voice of Valerio Staffelli, interacted with the professors and students present, enthusiastic to be able to dialogue with the shooting champions.
Set up in the halls of Palazzo Battiferri and open until Saturday 25 March (from 8.00 to 19.00), the exhibition traces the history of skeet shooting in Italy, through images of Olympic competitions and the victories that have marked their destiny and they dictated its development, making it a discipline with one of the most nourished medals in all of Italian sport.
"Thanks to Fiocchi Munizioni for having thought of this exhibition and for bringing the Italian champions to our University - said the Rector Vilberto Stocchi, assisted by the Vice Rector Fabio Musso - The University of Urbino is carrying out numerous projects in the field of sport and health, thanks to the skills present in the School of Motor Sciences and in the Department of Biomolecular Sciences. Some of these projects concern clay shooting and this makes us proud to be able to contribute to the improvement of this discipline that has given so much prestige to Italian sport ".
"We want to bring skeet shooting in Italian schools and universities to make this sport known to our young people and also share with them the satisfactions of our industrial sector, the flagship of Made in Italy: in the world - has continued Marzio Maccacaro, Sales Director of Fiocchi Munizioni - FITAV is the Italian federation with the most Olympic medals and it is an honor for a company like ours to be able to contribute to this record. It is nice to see the growing enthusiasm and passion of Italians for this sport; events like today help young people to approach shooting with curiosity, perhaps dreaming of conquering the victories of our champions".
During the presentation of the project, the Professors of the University of Urbino Marco Cioppi and Ario Federici also intervened. In addition to the exhibition, the Fiocchi Foundation will also support a practical test, next April 5th at TAV San Marino, where students will be able to try their hand at clay pigeons for free, accompanied by specialized instructors, champion Jessica Rossi and an exceptional testimonial: Valerio Staffelli.
