The start of the international season
With the departure of the National Team of Trap The international competitive season for Italian clay shooting officially begins in Cairo, Egypt. The Azzurri, led on the platform by National Technical Director Marco Conti, will open the First World Cup Test of the ISSF, International Shooting Sports Federation, on Friday 26 January with the first 75 targets of the competition. On Thursday 25 January Conti will follow them on the platform in official training to make the final corrections to their technical preparation.
The names of the athletes
Under the orders of the Technical Director there will be Luca Miotto (Carabinieri) of Ciliverghe (BS), Valerio Grazini (Carabinieri) of Viterbo (VT) and Diego Valeri (Navy) of Artena (RM) for the men's team and Silvana Maria Stanco (Fiamme Gialle) of Winterthur (SUI), Federica Caporuscio (Carabinieri) of Rome and Alessia Iezzi (Carabinieri) of Manoppello (PE) for the women's one. Also flying to Egypt were Matteo Marongiu (Fiamme Oro) from Sassari, Marco Correzzola from Merlana (PD), Erica Sessa (Fiamme Oro) from Cava de' Tirreni (SA) and Alessandra Della Valle (Fiamme Azzurre) from Solaro (MI) who they will try their hand at throwing the Il Caio facility only for Ranking points (RPO, out of competition, ed.). The first medals of the season will be awarded on Saturday 27 January, with finals scheduled starting from 13.15 pm Italian time.
The Skeet
Skeet specialists will also reach Cairo on January 26th. The Blue Team will be led by the Federal Technician Andrea Filippetti, delegate of the National Technical Director Andrea Benelli, and will be made up of Tammaro Cassandro (Carabinieri) from Capua (CE), Luigi Agostino Lodde (Army) from Ozieri (SS) and Gabriele Rossetti (Fiamme Oro) of Ponte Buggianese (PT) for men and by Chiara Di Marziantonio (Army) of Cerveteri (RM), Martina Maruzzo (Fiamme Oro) of Nanto (VI) and Sara Bongini (Fiamme Oro) of Impruneta (FI) for women. Their first official commitment is set for Sunday 28 January with pre-match training (Pre Event Training, ed.) (source: FITAV).
