Wide margin
The 52nd European Champion of Universal Trench ended with a great performance by the Italian Team led by Technical Commissioner Sandro Polsinelli who swept the medals, both in the race for the Continental Titles and in the European Cup. The Italian celebration in the O Pinhal facility in Pêra in Portugal colored yesterday evening with the Tricolor with eleven medals in the European Championship and seven in the European Cup. The performance of Bianca Revello from Bernezzo (CN) in the Women's category deserves applause. The Italian won by a wide margin in the individual ranking, becoming European Champion with a score of 196/200, and climbed onto the second step of the podium in the Team competition together with Rachele Amighetti from Costa Volpino (BG) and Giulia Maria Pedrolini from Saint-Pierre (AO), authors of a total of 562/600. Ahead of them only their French colleagues with 565.
General Classification
Double European Title for Italy's Veterans. The individual one was deserved by Roberto Bocci from San Vincenzo (LI), first on the podium of the qualification with 196/200. The Tuscan returned to the podium to also put around his neck the Team one together with Roberto Coppiello from Vigonza (PD) and Mario De Donato from Naples thanks to the total of 575/600. In reality, Bocci even won three medals, having also deserved in the General classification (Open, ed.), always with the score of 196/200. Two medals came at the hands of our Juniors. In the individual competition it was Luca Baldo Annaloro from Palermo, who with 195/200 deserved the silver medal bowing only to the Spanish Hector Avila Manjon, first with an almost perfect 199/200. In the team competition Annaloro deserved the honour of having the Mameli Anthem resound together with Matteo Bruno from Cavallermaggiore (CN) and Mario Fabrizi from Frosinone thanks to a total of 575/600.
The Masters
The Masters were no exception, bringing a silver and a bronze to the Italian coffer. The silver came from Gildo Grondona of Genoa with a score of 190/200, while the bronze medal was won by Grondona with Calogero Gibiino of Catania and Palmiro Menoni of Maglie (LE) third on the podium in the Team category with a total of 534/600. The two bronze medals in the Team category that completed the Italian haul were also certainly prestigious. The first was that of the male trio composed of Alessandro Camisotti of Porto Viro (RO), Stefano Narducci of Altopascio (LU) and Paolo Pallotta of Vitorchiano (VT) on the third step of the podium with 575/600, while the second came at the hands of the Seniors Luciano Fiorini Carbognin of Montecchia di Crosara (VR), Giuseppe Patassini of Narni (TR) and Stefano Pavan of Pogliano Milanese (MI) authors of a total of 571/600.
The words of the technician
As anticipated at the beginning, Italy also shone in the European Cup with the gold of Grondona (Master), the silver of Ravera (Master), the gold of Bocci (Veterans), the bronze of De Donato (Veterans), the silver of Fiorini (Senior), the bronze of Fabrizi (Junior) and the silver of Annaloro (Junior). Also noteworthy are the placings of Narducci and Annaloro in the general classification, respectively fourth and fifth. “It was a result obtained with the skill of individuals, but with a collective effort – explained the coach from Sora (FR) – The team spirit was fundamental, to which the Federal Coach Giuliano Callara from Anagni (FR) and the Federal Coach Vito Cito from Piobesi Torinese (TO) also contributed, both working with the Ladies and Junior Teams, and the Federal Councilor Roberta Pelosi, our Head of Mission. A huge thank you from all of us to the Federal President Luciano Rossi and to the Council of the Italian Shooting Federation for their closeness and continuous support. Now we return home with the aim of working and committing ourselves to the maximum to present ourselves at the World Championship in Rome even more ready and enthusiastic”. The FITASC World Championship will be hosted by the Capitoline platforms of the Tav Roma from 31 July to 3 August.
