The new champions
The French platforms at the Sologne Shooting Club in Chaumont sur Tharonne have decreed the new European Champions of Compak Sporting And Italy, as always, performed well. Coach Veniero Spada's Italian team concluded the trip with a rich haul: three Continental titles, two silver medals, and one bronze.
The most prestigious title
The most significant result came from the Umbrian coach from Fabro (TR), who won the European Championship title in the Veterans' category with a score of 194/200. Joining him on the podium was Mauro Bosi of Forlì (FC), who took the silver medal with 192/200. Bosi returned to the podium to celebrate the bronze medal in the Teams' category, which he shared with Pier Luigi Fantozzi of Campiglia Marittima (LI) and Giovanni Provenzale of Rimini with a total of 547/600. Ahead of them were only Great Britain, who took gold with 552/600, and France, who took silver with 549/600. The Seniors also took home a double medal.
Team trial
The Ladies' Team event, composed of Veronica Bertoli of Gavardo (BS), Alessia Panizza of Lierna (LC), and Katiuscia Spada of Fabro (TR), also topped the podium with a total of 565/600, while the Men's Team, composed of Marco Battisti of Pesaro, Cristian Camporese of Padova (PD), and Michael Spada of Fabro (TR), will return to Italy with silver medals with a total of 585/600. The Senior Team, composed of Paolo Arcangioli of Castiglione del Lago (PG), Alessandro Gaetani of San Miniato (PI), and Francesco Bordoni of Terni, also took gold with 564/600. Honorable mention went to Bordoni, who, with scores of 191/200 +21/25 and +8, was a play-off winner for the individual bronze medal, having to settle for fourth place overall. For Compak Sporting, the next appointment will be the World Championship scheduled at the Tav San Martino in Rio Salso di Tavullia (PU) from 20 to 23 August (source: FITAV).
