A spectacular three-day event
The 43rd edition of the Universal Trench World Championships has officially concluded , and Italy once again stands out among all competing nations. 310 athletes from 16 nations filled the platforms of the Rome-based TAV facility throughout the three-day event, which awarded the 2025 world titles in the discipline.

The results
In the Open category, the top two steps of the podium were taken by two Italian athletes, Vincenzo Triscari from Naso (Messina) and Graziano Borlini from Ardesio (Bergamo). They not only achieved the highest score of the competition, 196/200, but also put on a spectacular show during the shoot-off for gold and silver, which ended with a 25-point lead to the Sicilian's 19-point advantage. Third place went to France's Steve Perrin, who was out of contention for the two most valuable medals with a 195/200. Along with his overall silver medal, Borlini also took the Veteran Qualification gold, further confirming the competitive quality of the Italian National Team. Another Italian, Roberto Coppiello from Vigonza (Padua), took silver, finishing his race with a score of 187/200+23, edging out Spaniard Fernando Garcia Fuertes for bronze with a 187/200+22. Stefano Bocci of Riano (RM) is the new Masters World Champion, beating second- and third-place Manuel Magan Cenamor (ESP) and Kevin Borley (GBR) with 184/200 and 183/200, respectively. Two individual bronze medals came from the Ladies and Junior qualifiers, the first by Rachele Amighetti of Costa Volpino (BG), who earned a podium finish with 182/300, behind only Great Britain's Katherine Bright, second with 181/200, and France's Caroline Arnaudeix, first with 182/200. In the Juniors, Mario Fabrizi of Frosinone earned the bronze medal with 183/200, ahead of Australian Cameron Ford with 188/200+193+200 and Spain's Hector Manjon Avila with 25/0+193+200.
Other statistics
The team competition also produced significant results. The veteran team, made up of Graziano Borlini, Roberto Coppiello, and Francesco Pollicino from Messina, earned the world championship gold with a score of 569/600, outperforming the French team (544/600) and the Australian team (522/600). The juniors also excelled on the world stage: Luca Baldo Annaloro from Palermo, Simone Boccanfuso from Barano d'Ischia (NA), and Mario Fabrizi from Frosinone prevailed with 549/600, beating the Australian team (548/600) and the British team (538/600) in third place. Silver medals went to the ladies, Rachele Amighetti, Bianca Revello of Bernezzo (VN), and Ester Iannotti of Vallo della Lucania (SA), who finished third with 527/600, trailing only the French, who finished with 537/600. Second place also went to the seniors Stefano Pavan of Pogliano Milanese (MI), Luciano Fiorini Carbognin of Montecchio di Crosara (VR), and Massimo Croce of Guidonia (RM), who took silver with 566/600, while the Spanish team, leading with 568/600, and the French team, bronze with 564/600. Silver medals were also secured for the masters Mauro Abati of Cesena (FC), Stefano Bocci of Riano (RM), and Palmiro Menoni of Maglie (LE), with 531/600. Only the Spanish trio performed better, with 540/600, while the British came in third with 522/600 (source: FITAV).
