They promised it and they did it. During yesterday morning, Sunday 16 October 2016, animal rights activists from La Spezia and Tuscany they met on the hills of Livorno for disturb the hunters with whistles and trumpets and save the migratory birds. As reported by Cittadellaspezia.com, it was not possible to fire any shots due to this protest and the game boxes were inexorably empty.
According to the testimony of some activists, about 20 hunters had to leave, ending the line prematurely. Furthermore, the troublemakers would receive the solidarity of hikers, cyclists and mushroom hunters. Even some policemen would have consented to the disturbance of hunting activity, sharing the intentions.
Objects of all kinds were used to obtain the hoped-for noise: in addition to those already mentioned, sirens and even pot lids were brought. Each location was disturbed by two activists and the hunters were not left alone for a second. The activists, however, could not do anything about the live calls, as blackbirds and thrushes were not released and continued to sing.
