We ask the Prime Minister and the Government majority (we know that some changes are shared non-publicly even by members of the minority) to continue with determination in the process of modification in line with the proposals for updating the law n. 157/1992 advanced at institutional level and shared by the hunting community. Public debate in recent weeks has too often been dominated by ideological statements and misleading narratives, spread by opposition figures, entertainment personalities, and some animal rights groups in cities and social circles.
Lack of comparison
Indeed, there is a substantial lack of concrete discussion regarding the merits of the individual amendments: many of the criticisms raised are not reflected in the texts under discussion. The preference is to fuel alarmism and gain consensus by leveraging partial or distorted information, aimed at an audience that often lacks access to the technical details of the reform.
Communities involved
For this reason, we believe it is essential to maintain a clear and responsible approach, based on the actual content of the proposed legislation, on the balance between environmental protection and land management, and on listening to the communities directly involved. A serious and informed discussion is needed, not slogan-driven campaigns. We therefore urge the Government not to back down in the face of pressure based on inaccurate (often false) assumptions and to consistently pursue an intervention aimed at more effective and rational management of the matter. Let's restore dignity to hunting! (Source: ACMA).
