
Hunting in Lazio. The hunting season in Lazio will open on 18 September and will end on 30 January 2017, with two pre-opening days, 1 and 4 September 2016 (from 5,35 to 19,40) and nine days of postponement. from 1 to 9 February 2017. This is established by the new Hunting Calendar 2016/2017 by decree of the President of the Lazio Region, Nicola Zingaretti, in compliance with the Community and national regulatory provisions.
The hunting calendar, approved within the terms established by regional law n.17 of 1995, made use of the participation of the hunting, agricultural and environmentalist associations represented at the regional wildlife-hunting table and the acquisition of the opinions of the ISPRA, Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research. The work of sharing the interested parties has made it possible to recognize and indicate, starting from the month of June, also the days of pre-opening and postponement that will characterize the 2016/2017 hunting season.
In detail, from 18 September to 31 October the hunting with quail and turtledove; from 18 September to 31 December that with wild rabbit and pheasant (in the wildlife-hunting farms the pheasant will be huntable until 31 January); from 18 September to 30 January the following will be huntable: teal, snipe, gadwall, pintail, wigeon, coot, whisk, moorhen, mallard, gargane, shoveler, pochard lapwing, water rail and fox while the European hare until 8 December ; from 21 September to 31 December the blackbird; the lark from 1 October to 31 December; from 1 October to 19 January the species: woodcock, cesena, song thrush and stone thrush; from 1 October to 30 November the gray partridge; from 1 October to 31 January the wood pigeon and from 3 October to 30 January the species: hooded crow, magpie and jay.
As for ungulates, the new calendar allows hunting in collective form in teams for 6 days in October, 9 in November, 12 in December and 12 in January 2017 and in single form in the period starting from 2 November. to 30 January 2017. In both forms, wild boar hunting is excluded on 25 December and 1 January.
As regards the training and training of dogs, it is allowed without the possibility of shooting from 25 August to 15 September (with the exception of the days of 1 and 4 September), while in the SPAs starting from 2 September.
Furthermore, the Lazio Region, following the acquisition of the binding opinion of ISPRA, recognized the pre-opening of hunting limited to the species: hooded crow, magpie, jay, blackbird and turtle dove and the postponement of the closure of hunting limited to the species. wood pigeon, hooded crow, magpie and jay. In both cases, only the hunting modalities from stalking (fixed or temporary) without the aid of the dog are valid.
