Hunting: Lazio, a hearing of the Hunting Associations was held a few days ago in the Regional Council, representing the Lazio hunters, on the contents of the new 2015-2016 Hunting Calendar.
In concluding the hearing with the hunting associations, held on the morning of 6 July 2015, in the VIII commission of the Regional Council chaired by Mario Ciarla (Pd), the Councilor for Agriculture Sonia Ricci asked the representatives of the hunters for proposals on the 2015-16 Hunting Calendar. A document not yet formalized and on which last Friday - according to Ricci - the Region finally received the opinion of Ispra, the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research. The opinion was asked in May. During the hearing, the attention of the representatives of the hunters - as well as on the opportunity to immediately foresee pre-opening and postponement - was concentrated above all on the periods of hunting to migrants, in particular for the thrush (but the woodcock), which in Lazio would not arrive until January 31, as instead Tuscany and Umbria have oriented.
As for the connection with the other regions, Sonia Ricci said that, after the regional elections have been celebrated, she plans to start a table with the respective councilors. Silvana Denicolò (M5s) recalled the need to respect the law and take into account the indications of Brussels also to avoid making all citizens pay the penalties for any infringement procedures. As well as Cristiana Avenali (Pd), Denicolò asked that not only hunters be heard but all those involved be called to hear: Ispra, the Ministry of the Environment, the European Commission, environmentalists and non-hunting agricultural associations.
Giancarlo Righini, regional councilor of the Brothers of Italy who asked Ciarla for the hearing, since the opening of the proceedings underlined the purpose of the session: "To set up a process that involves everyone so that the hunting calendar becomes a certainty, avoiding unequal treatment with other Regions ".
Certainties also invoked by Daniele Sabatini (Ncd), who suggested starting a cycle of periodic meetings. During the session it was inevitable to touch - among the various topics relating to "management" - the issue of damage from wildlife, on the implementation of which the commissioner recalled what he said on June 16, again in the VIII commission. This topic of the “Regional interventions for the conservation, management, control of wildlife, the prevention and compensation of damage caused by the same as well as for a correct regulation of the wildlife-hunting activity. Suppression of the regional wildlife-hunting observatory ”which reminded Silvia Blasi (M5s) how it would have been more correct to entrust the topic to the Environment rather than to Agriculture. The director Riccardo Valentini (Pd) also participated in the session.
