Hunting: Lazio, the councilor Oscar Tortosa on the regional hunting calendar, "satisfied with the work of the Region".
In a note, the director Oscar Tortosa, PSI group leader and vice president of the Productive Activities Commission at the Lazio Region council is satisfied with the work done by the Regional Administration in hunting matters. "Even if at the end of the season, the sentence of the Lazio TAR which a few days ago confirmed the validity of the 2013/2014 hunting calendar prepared by the Lazio Region, rejecting the appeal of the animal welfare and environmental associations (Lav, Lac, WWF, Enpa, Lipu and Legambiente) who asked for its cancellation, has finally established a point of certainty that will make jurisprudence also in other regions of Italy.
The data that emerges, in fact, is that the times of the hunting activity are not established once and for all through a single and certain source, but can range within the hunting period granted by the European and national legislation that defines the huntable species. and protects the migratory and reproductive phases. I hope that this pronouncement will therefore avoid in the future the usual corollary of controversy that follows the issue of the regional hunting calendar.
In recent months I have supported the reasons of the Lazio hunters' associations, also recognizing the value of their contribution in the containment of invasive species harmful to agriculture, as in the case of the starling, so today I am satisfied with the choices made by the Lazio Region, in particular by the Councilor for Agriculture, Hunting and Fishing, Sonia Ricci, who worked in full legitimacy and who I hope will propose the same hunting calendar again next year ”.
