Piana's proposal
Identified by resolution of the Board of Directors Liguria, on the proposal of the vice president with responsibility for Agriculture and Hunting Alessandro Piana, the criteria for the distribution of the proceeds of regional taxes to be assigned to the Territorial Hunting Areas and Alpine Districts, according to current legislation (regional law 29/1994, article 42, paragraph 2).
Destination-specific constraints
“We followed the specific destination constraints – explains councilor Alessandro Piana – of the regional concession fees for issuing the hunting license and those for fixed stakes and wildlife-hunting companies. The specific criteria in fact identify the methods of assigning the tied resources relating to the quota of no less than 25% of the sum assigned for the performance of their functions.
Resident hunters
A quota of no less than 35% will therefore be allocated to the individual Territorial Hunting Areas or Alpine Districts in relation to the number of resident hunters, no less than 40% in relation to the viable agro-forestry-pastoral territory and the remainder for particular needs such as expenses extraordinary measures related to the management of the eradication of African swine fever. As regards the specific criteria for assigning the 10% share allocated by law to the management of no-hunting zones and wildlife protection oases, half will be assigned in relation to the number of resident hunters and half in relation to the agricultural territory -veable forestry-pastoral areas of each Territorial Hunting Area or Alpine Area” (source: Liguria Region).
