Sauro Manucci (FdI) presented a question, signed by colleagues of the group, in which he asked the council of Liguria to combat the overpopulation of wild boars on the Ligurian territory and what actions have been taken to date. Manucci noted that, despite the abatement plans and the prevention measures adopted, the excessive proliferation of wild boars on the Ligurian territory has caused and is causing considerable damage to agricultural production, for example non-agricultural commercial activities and to private individuals.
The councilor for hunting Alessandro Piana underlined the seriousness of the problem, which mainly concerns Liguria, due to the large wooded area, and the damage caused by the overcrowding of wild boars and cited, in detail, the figures allocated in the last 5 years by the Region as compensation to agricultural entrepreneurs and other damaged subjects on the basis of the specific Regulation activated in 2016. Piana also recalled the measures adopted by the council two years ago, through a specific amendment of the RDP.
