The Region approves the construction of hunting terraces on agricultural land for hunting ungulates and in particular wild boars.
The regional council, on the proposal of the councilor for agriculture, Giovanni Barbagallo, gave the green light to the construction on agricultural land of raised structures for hunting ungulates and in particular wild boars. The aim is to limit the damage caused by ungulates to crops and allow the owners of agricultural land to make an economic profit from the presence of this game on their land.
The roof terraces will be made of easily removable materials and can be used, during the hunting season, with the authorization of the owner of the fund, by hunters qualified for individual hunting of wild boar or other ungulates.
Outside the hunting season or the hours set for hunting, the use of the facilities could be authorized by the competent authorities, with the previous verification of compatibility with the control plans adopted. The same structures, if placed in strategic places frequented by birds belonging to the migratory fauna, could be used as observation points for birdwatchers.
