And if on the one hand the commissioner Stefano Mai has launched the launch of a technical table with the subjects present today to define the prevention, control and compensation interventions, on the other CIA Liguria has already presented a series of concrete proposals on which discuss.
In the foreground, the need to redetermine the hunting period; the possibility of establishing the culling quotas and sanctioning that until the numbers have been reached, we continue to hunt; determine that the owner of the fund in possession of a permit and card, can always hunt the wild boar on its fund throughout the year. And in case of lack of firearms license, you can delegate a person you trust.
"The data show that hunting alone, in the manner followed up to now, has been able to maintain a tolerable balance for agriculture - explains Aldo Alberto, president of Cia Liguria - It is necessary to rearrange and coordinate non excluding extraordinary interventions. The density of animals and their location is intolerable compared to the needs of farmers ".
A meeting that saw the start of the discussion on some operational points between farmers and hunters: from the possibility of the farmer to request the intervention of a member of the hunting teams to intervene on his own fund, to the rotation of the teams themselves on the territory, to the need for interventions by teams of hunters in particularly sensitive periods for the agricultural world such as, for example, during the harvest. Topics that will be the subject of proposals to which a small technical group has been entrusted which will be convened in the coming days.
“The distance between us and the hunters is less wide than one might think and this meeting proved it - concludes Aldo Alberto -. However, every decision must take into consideration the distinction between those who work a hobby and those who, like farmers, work and defend the land to create income and provide jobs ”.
