The Italian Hunting Union welcomes the initiative of the Lombardy Region, no taxes for new hunters in 2015.
On the cue of the Northern League, on the occasion of the approval of the 2015 Budget, the Lombardy Region has exempted the new hunters, that is, those who in 2015 will obtain the license of hunting, from the payment of the regional concession fee. It is certainly an act that, albeit small, will serve to encourage those who want to approach the world of hunting.
We hope that many young people from Lombardy, encouraged by this provision, will be able to start a good path of approaching nature and hunting practice. In recent years, the sector has in fact encountered a period of severe crisis, due to both the costs to be incurred and the denigration that hunters face every day by animal welfare associations.
We cannot allow an activity characterized by a great tradition, strong ethical values and an unconditional proximity to the environment, to be opposed by these problems. Our union hopes that Lombardy's initiative will be taken as an example by other Italian regions and will only be the beginning of a new rebirth for our passion.
