THELombard Hunters Association has published an account of theexpected meeting in Rome with the Minister of the Environment, Gianluca Galletti. It cannot be said that the return "home" took place empty-handed. In particular, the owner of the department of Via Cristoforo Colombo praised the work done by Lara Comi and the other MEPs for the question in Brussels on ISPRA's work. The institute almost seems to be an obstacle in this case, since it does not provide data on petty migration and these words of Galletti certainly induce optimism.
The future is still uncertain for Lombard hunters, especially as regards hunting in derogation and live calls. He was also present at the Roman meeting Maria Carmela Giarratano, an executive of the Ministry, who opened a direct line to maintain this type of discussion also in the coming months.
The hope is that precise answers will arrive from Brussels on the early closure of the hunting levy, a circumstance that occurred only in Italy. There will also be a report that will allow us to investigate the reasons for a unique case, given that in no other EU country has it been decided to suspend the hunting calendar ahead of time.
