Respect for the rules
“The approval of the amendment within the Mountain Bill represents a fundamental step to bring clarity and regulatory truth to a topic that, in recent years, has generated confusion and unjustified uncertainties, especially in Lombardy. It is an act of respect towards those who live and protect the mountain territories, and an acknowledgement of the role played by thousands of Lombard citizens who practice hunting, in compliance with the rules”. This was stated by the regional councillor for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Alessandro Beduschi, commenting on the amendment to the Mountain Bill, a direct consequence of the bill on the protection of wild fauna and hunting, whose process is underway in Parliament.
A regulatory framework based on scientific foundations
“The Lombardy Region – continues Beduschi – has always strongly supported the need for a regulatory framework based on scientific bases, which protects the environment, biodiversity and traditions. This intervention goes precisely in this direction: it re-establishes a balance between environmental protection and responsible freedom in the territories”. For the purpose of transparency, the Lombardy Region had already started an information activity towards the owners of the affected huts, in compliance with the provisions of the previous rulings of the TAR and the Council of State. However, the approval of the law by the Chamber today makes those communications outdated in practice: those who received them should not worry, while waiting for the Senate to also confirm the will of the legislator, making a law definitive that brings clarity to the whole matter.

“A special thanks – concludes the councilor – goes to the undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests Patrizio La Pietra, who played a valuable role in coordinating the institutional levels, allowing the completion of a truth operation that has been long awaited by the Lombard hunting world and by all those who care about life in the internal and mountain areas”.
