Full compliance with the laws
The Councilor for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of the Lombardy Region Alessandro Beduschi has requested an urgent meeting with ISPRA regarding highly topical issues concerning the world of hunting and fishing. Federcaccia Lombardia reports this by reporting a note from the Region: “Lombardy - declares Beduschi - wishes to reiterate its commitment to operate in full compliance with the laws and regulations in force regarding hunting and fishing. However, we cannot ignore the growing difficulties caused by the responses that arrive from ISPRA after each of our actions, which are often completely devoid of adequate scientific support".
Roccoli and more
“We find ourselves faced – continues the councilor – with an ideological wall. This situation concerns not only the definition of minimum quantities and hunting in derogation, but also issues such as the reopening of roccoli or, to move on to the fishing sector, even the reintroduction of whitefish into Lake Garda." According to Beduschi, the Lombardy Region remains available for dialogue and collaboration with ISPRA, with the common objective of ensuring responsible management of hunting and fishing activities in the area. On these assumptions, the councilor asks to meet Pietro Genovesi, Head of the ISPRA Service for the coordination of wildlife activities and Acta Commissioner on the topic of mountain passes.
The need for concrete evidence
“It is fundamental – concludes Alessandro Beduschi – that ISPRA provides arguments based on consolidated data and not on prejudice. If we are given negative answers, they must be supported by concrete and motivated evidence, as hunters and fishermen are not outlaws, but citizens who ask for clear rules to be able to carry out their activities in compliance with the rules and environmental sustainability" (source: FIDC) .
