The supplementary regulations to the Hunting Calendar of the Lombardy Region relating to the 2012/2013 Hunting Season for the territory of the province of Mantua have been approved by the Provincial Council.
Below we publish an extract from the resolution of the Provincial Council of Mantua regarding the supplementary rules to the Regional Hunting Calendar relating to the 2012-2013 Hunting Season. DOG TRAINING
1. The training and training of dogs is allowed in the territorial hunting areas to the respective members, with a maximum number of 6 dogs, from 18 August to 15 September 2012 for 5 days a week with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays, if not there is a ban on hunting;
2. in the SPA called "IT 20B0501 Viadana, Portiolo, San Benedetto Po and Ostiglia" which affects the floodplain areas of the Po in the municipalities of Viadana, Pomponesco, Dosolo, Suzzara, Motteggiana, Quingentole, Borgoforte, Bagnolo San Vito, San Benedetto Po , Serravalle Po, Pieve di Coriano, Revere and Ostiglia ”pursuant to Ministerial Decree no. 184 of 17 October 2007 and succ. mod. the training and training of dogs is allowed to members of the respective areas, with a maximum number of 6 dogs, from 1 September to 15 September 2012 for 4 days a week with the exception of Monday, Tuesday and Friday, where there is no hunting ban;
3. training is allowed only on uncultivated grounds and land free from cultivation.
WILDING HUNTING AND TEMPORARY HUNTING
1. From 16 September 2012 to 1 October 2012, inclusive, it is allowed on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays with early daily closure at 12 noon only for hunting sedentary species (hare, pheasant and gray partridge), for which hunting wandering to the migratory in the afternoon (from 12 onwards) must be carried out without the help of dogs; this in order to safeguard agricultural production and to avoid postponed opening until 1 October;
2. from 2 October 2012 to 31 December 2012 the provisions of the LR 17/04 (Regional Hunting Calendar) apply, except for early closure of sedentary game only (hare, pheasant and partridge) upon specific request of the ATC for the achievement of the hunting sampling referred to in point 4 below, without prejudice to any subsequent modification for contingent reasons;
3. from 8 December 2012 to 31 January 2013:
- the use of a follow-up dog is prohibited;
- only the use of den dogs (dachshunds and terriers) is allowed only for fox hunting;
4. from 1 January 2013 to 31 January 2013, hunting is allowed for three days a week only in the marshes and along the banks of ponds, lakes, rivers and canals, the latter with a bed of at least 4 meters wide and with continuous flow of water and within 50 meters of the wave head with the warning that, having some channels the course of the riverbed is not always regular, hunting is only allowed in the stretches of at least 4 meters width of the riverbed, and with continuous presence of water, free from hunting restrictions and in strict compliance with current regulations. During this period the use of pointing and hunting dogs is allowed. Outside the 50 meter range in which it is possible to hunt, the shotgun must be unloaded and stored in the scabbard.
HUNTING FROM FIXED POSITION
1. from September 16, 2012 to January 31, 2013, the provisions of the Regional Hunting Calendar (LR n.17 / 04) apply. Therefore, hunting from fixed stalking is carried out for 3 days a week of your choice, with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays, from 16 September 2012 to 30 September 2012 and from 1 December 2012 to 31 January 2013;
2. From 1 October 2012 to 30 November 2012, hunting is allowed for four days a week, with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays (as indicated by the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research - ISPRA).
SEASONAL GAME CARNER
1. Daily pass for each individual member of ATC: two animals of which only one hare;
2. overall for the entire season for each individual ATC member as indicated below: hares n. 12, pheasants No. 30, partridge n. 10;
3. for each hunting area, the total withdrawal for the hunting season is indicated below:
- ATC n. 1: hares n. 2.200, pheasants n. 4.000, partridge n. 100;
- ATC n. 2: hares n. 2.800, pheasants n. 3.500, partridge n. 250;
- ATC n. 3: hares n. 2.700, pheasants n. 6.000, partridge n. 1.000;
- ATC n. 4: hares n. 3.800, pheasants n. 3.500, partridge n. 500;
- ATC n. 5: hares n. 3.000, pheasants n. 7.000, partridge n. 500;
- ATC n. 6: hares n. 2.000, pheasants n. 6.000, partridge n. 1.000.
VENATORIE FAUNISTIC COMPANIES AND VENATORIE AGRI-TOURIST COMPANIES
Hunting is allowed, pursuant to art. 38 of LR 26/93 and succ. mod. and integr. until 31 January 2013 and remains governed by the regional hunting calendar and by the regulations concerning the individual companies.
RELATIONS WITH THE NEIGHBORING PROVINCES
The wildlife-hunting management of territorial areas not delimited by clearly identifiable natural borders or overlooking the water bodies interposed between the provinces of Mantua and other neighboring provinces is implemented on the basis of the agreements established between the respective territorial hunting areas concerned.
VENATORY ACTIVITIES IN THE SPECIAL PROTECTION AREA (SPA)
In the SPA called "IT 20B0501 Viadana, Portiolo, San Benedetto Po and Ostiglia" which affects the floodplain areas of the Po in the municipalities of Viadana, Pomponesco, Dosolo, Suzzara, Motteggiana, Quingentole, Borgoforte, Bagnolo San Vito, San Benedetto Po, Serravalle Po, Pieve di Coriano, Revere and Ostiglia ”, pursuant to Ministerial Decree no. 184 of 17 October 2007 and succ. mod., the hunting activity must be carried out in the following way:
Stalking and temporary stalking hunt
1. From 16 September 2012 to 1 October 2012, inclusive, it is allowed on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays with early daily closure at 12 noon only for hunting sedentary species (hare, pheasant and gray partridge), for which hunting wandering to the migratory in the afternoon (from 12 onwards) must be carried out without the help of dogs; this in order to safeguard agricultural production and avoid postponed opening until 1 October;

3. from 8 December 2012 to 31 January 2013 it is forbidden to use a follow-up dog;
4. from 1 January 2013 to 31 January 2013 hunting is allowed on the two fixed days of Wednesday and Sunday only in the marshes and along the banks of ponds, lakes, rivers and canals, the latter with a bed of at least 4 meters wide and with continuous presence of water and within 50 meters of the wave head, with the warning that, having some channels the course of the riverbed is not always regular, hunting is allowed only in the stretches at least 4 meters wide of the riverbed, and with continuous presence of water, free from hunting constraints and in strict compliance with current regulations. In this period the use of the pointing dog is allowed. Outside the 50 meter range in which it is possible to hunt, the shotgun must be unloaded and stored in the scabbard.
Hunting from fixed position:
5. From 16 September 2012 to 31 December 2012 hunting is allowed for 3 days a week at your choice, with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays;
6. from 1st January 2013 to 31st January 2013 hunting is allowed on the two fixed days of Wednesday and Sunday.
Prohibitions provided for by Ministerial Decree 184/07 following mod .:
1. Exercise of hunting in derogation pursuant to art. 9, paragraph 1, letter c), of directive no. 79/409 / EEC;
2. carrying out motorized circulation activities outside the roads, with the exception of agricultural and forestry vehicles, for emergency, control and surveillance vehicles, for the vehicles of those entitled, as owners, managers and workers and purposes of access to fixed hunting positions, defined by art. 5 of the law n. 157/1992, by persons authorized to use and manage them, exclusively during the hunting season;
3. killing of specimens belonging to the fighting species (Philomacus pugnax), tufted duck (Aythya fuligula);
4. willful destruction or damage to bird nests and shelters.
As per Decree n.12027 of 25/11/10 of the Directorate General for Green Systems and Landscape of the Lombardy Region, the use of ammunition containing lead within the entire SPA is prohibited; without prejudice to any new and different official state and / or regional provisions within the deadline for the opening of the hunt.
ESTABLISHMENT OF INTERNAL CARD FOR THE AREAS
In compliance with the rules established by art. 30 paragraph 15 of LR 26/93 and subsequent amendments and additions, the management committees of the territorial hunting areas can approve regulations that provide for the use of an internal card also aimed at collecting useful and necessary data to improve the wildlife management of the territorial scope itself. The internal card must be filled in together with the regional card. To allow ATCs to carry out the aforementioned statistics, the badges must be returned at the deadlines established by the areas. The incorrect compilation of the internal card may result in the sanction referred to in art. 51 paragraph 1 of the Regional Law n. 26/93 and succ. mod ..
PROHIBITIONS
1) Pursuant to Decree No. 12027 of 25/11/10 of the Directorate General for Green Systems and Landscape of the Lombardy Region, the use of lead-containing ammunition is prohibited:
1. Throughout the SPA IT20B0501;
2. in all wetlands (lakes, ponds, marshes, marshes, oxbow lakes, etc.) within the Natura 2000 sites, as well as within a radius of 150 meters from the outermost shores of these areas, even if located in the external sites. This prohibition will be effective only following the communication by the Managing Body of the (clear and unambiguously interpretable) tabulation of the aforementioned areas.
2) it is also forbidden, in case of floods of rivers, in order to prevent situations of dangerous overcrowding of hunters and in order to avoid situations in contrast with the ethical code of hunting contained in the current Wildlife Hunting Plan, to hunt game sedentary at distances of less than 200 meters from the water front, without prejudice to the prerogative of the areas to request further temporary territorial restrictions from the Province in order to clearly delimit the areas concerned.
