Italian Venatory Syndicate: Municipality of Mantua approves the prohibition of hunting then he backs off, “Coherence… this unknown”.
From various quarters in the hunting world, choruses of protest have been raised for the unexpected and unexpected resolution no. 10/2015 of the municipality of Mantua regarding the regulation for the protection of animal welfare signed by the mayor Nicola Sodano. Protests in which we of the SVI also participated through the voice of our representative Barbara Mazzali. Unexpected and unexpected not so much in relation to the underlying principle in question, and to which we want to refer in general, (but are we sure that it is in general terms? (In this regard we would like some clarification). rages in the salons well, from north to south and from east to west of this derelict Italy, including the islands; the safeguarding of animal welfare, possibly at the expense of human beings.
Let's go in order:
We like other trade associations and not, we have shouted that this resolution under Article 23, which calls into question hunting and prohibits its activity throughout the municipal territory tout court is illegitimate.
Although at present it would be more accurate to say "it was" as in the last few hours there has been a reverse on the article just mentioned, voting for the abolition of the aforementioned. We take note of the decision of the mayor and his council to retrace their steps, but the perplexities remain, perplexities triggered by this story that is tinged with the dark colors of arrogance and ignorance.
The arrogance of a small group of animal-makers, capable of manipulating a mayor and his council at will by inducing them to approve a provision (and here there is ignorance) even if they do not have the requisites and powers to do so. Otherwise we should think that the latter are all vegans, and this in itself would trigger even more doubts about the notorious "protection of animal welfare" in relation to the entire resolution approved by the junta with an absolute majority.
By now it seems evident that these inexperienced municipal panniers have understood that they cannot legislate on the subject of hunting, and that there are other laws and other competent bodies on the subject. So, you can easily go and reveal the doubts that have arisen by reading the more than famous Mantuan resolution in its entirety. When we talk about animal welfare, we mean all those complex beings that breathe and that are not enough for themselves, but need something else to live, (they live from the living, including man) or simply to a small number of them, and in the case in point, are we referring to dogs, cats and perhaps horses? In good part and specifically it is these animals that are referred to, for some others there are very generic references.
Because, if the answer were to be the latter, (second hypothesis of answer) we naturally ask ourselves what hunting with these animals centered on, given that the three listed species are not of hunting interest, indeed, dogs (some breeds) accompany. If, on the other hand, the answer should be the first, then the story takes a decidedly more complicated turn. It is here that in analyzing the entire provision it is noted that the latent coherence, absolutely no trace of it can be found.
Chickens, lambs, cows, etc. aren't they also animals? And what about rats, cockroaches, bedbugs ... for these animals I refer you to Article 8 which prohibits the preparation and spreading on the territory, (we rightly add) of poisoned morsels. Except then backtrack for some species, which, as can be seen from the excerpt (which we quote) from the said article, are obviously less fortunate: "Rodent control and disinfestation operations, which must be carried out in such ways, are excluded from the ban. not to affect or harm in any way to other animal species and reported in accordance with current legislation. "
But let's get to the second answer hypothesis.
It is known to all that these animals are part of the so-called affection species, in particular the dog and the cat live in close contact with humans having adopted them and brought them to live (housed) at home, still not the horse, but it is there is no doubt that we interact much more with these three species, there is a give and take than with other animals (birds, reptiles and other exotic animals) that we often find in our homes, it is certainly more difficult to obtain.
Well, if the intent of this resolution was aimed at the well-being of these species considered to be affectionate, because then we jumped on the hunt by banning it without ifs and buts throughout the Mantuan territory, considering that there are laws in Italy who already have the protection and well-being of our 4-legged, crawling and winged friends and roommates at heart. As a well-known politician once said, "to think badly makes you sin, but often you guess".
So it comes naturally to us to think that we wanted to use this resolution as a Trojan horse, to hit the hunters and hunters, it is true that the shot was also being attempted in Bergamo, convinced as they were to get away with one more time. time, as has happened for many years now. If this really had been their real intent, it has failed, and if it has failed it is because for once the cry of protest towards further theft against us has been raised unanimously.
As further proof that compactness and unity of purpose are needed to face and overcome our detractors. We would have understood if they had acted consistently, and certainly we would not have thought badly, if a similar measure had been added to the measure against hunting, with the ban on slaughtering and the introduction of butchered meat throughout the municipal area of Mantua. Obviously these gentlemen, and here I am referring to the extremist soul of our local animalism, who are the real responsible for this clumsy attempt, who, acting behind the scenes, have manipulated and induced a junta to attempt a small local coup. Believing that it would once again be easier against us, (and they have been proven wrong for once) than with the entire Mantuan citizenship.
How do you explain to the people that the protection of animal welfare is certainly more important than the well-being and protection of all men? Don't you think it would be time to explain to all Italians that even if they succeed in stopping the hunt for good, then it would be their turn as meat consumers? That the first timid "rumors" of imposing veganism on the people by law have begun to emerge?
