A few days have passed since the sentence of the Regional Administrative Court of the Marche about the hunting calendar 2016-2017 it caused a lot of discussion. Following the request of WWF and LAC, in fact, it was decided to suspend the hunting of the tufted duck and the starling. During the day yesterday, Tuesday 27 September 2016, the regional councilor Moreno Pieroni however, he sent a letter to the hunting associations present in the area and announced that from today, Wednesday 28 September, these two withdrawals will be possible again.
The situation prior to the ruling of the administrative judges has therefore been restored. Starling hunting, in particular, is an exception. As pointed out by Pieroni, each individual hunter will have a maximum number of 15 daily animals to be killed, while there will be 100 annual ones (in both withdrawals).
The TAR had to object to the motivation listed in the Marche calendar for the hunting of the African duck, defined as "contradictory". In the case of the reversal, on the contrary, the withdrawal was suspended precisely due to the failure to provide for the maximum number of heads, a detail that has now been provided. The new provisions will be valid and effective as of today.
