Growth process
Two worlds, those of OPES aps and ENCI, which share intentions and objectives, both in the social and sporting fields. Both associations aim, through the agreement that is the subject of the day, to increase their prospects in line with the growth process that distinguishes the individual paths. The main objectives of the signing of the protocol are two: to want to recognize the role of canine sports activities, functional to the development of amateur sports in the sector in Italy, as well as abroad; to generate value for people and for the community through the promotion of shared projects of sports, social and cultural promotion and participation in canine activities.
The specifics of the agreement
A fruitful collaboration is therefore established that will see the planning and organization of joint events and activities with a positive impact on society through sport, a tool for promoting the psychophysical well-being of people; in this framework, sporting activity, practiced through the use and enhancement of dog breeds, is the protagonist of the projects that OPES and ENCI will carry out together, respecting traditions but open to innovation, continuous training and sustainability. Among the specifications of the agreement is a joint intervention, regarding the training courses carried out by ENCI, for the sporting recognition of titles and activities for amateur sporting purposes and their inclusion in the RASD (Register of Amateur Sports Activities) including the issuing of the diploma and related technical card.
A concrete commitment
Finally, the establishment of a special Implementation and Monitoring Committee of the protocol composed of four members, two for each party, for a concrete commitment and a timely control action. “What we are signing today – declared the President of OPES aps, Juri Morico – is an act of commitment. OPES and ENCI are going to formalize common objectives; we are called to commit ourselves in this sense by our Constitution. Today we are giving ourselves important tasks and involving all the protagonists – in reference to the presence of Senator Giorgio Salvitti, representing the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, ed. – because we do not want it to be just a slogan, therefore we ask to control us and that its implementation be monitored. It is no coincidence that a fundamental point of this protocol is the inclusion, on our part, of an ad hoc Committee; we must achieve specific and measurable results. All the conditions are there”.
African swine fever
“This is a convention that looks to the future – shared the President of ENCI, Dino Muto – in particular of the purebred dog; we protect about 400 breeds ensuring their well-being and biodiversity. We believe that our dog breeding is an excellence. Our units, for example, have returned dogs that are making a fundamental contribution to the issue of African swine fever, a concrete help to eradicate the virus. In Italy, it is estimated that there are 8 and a half million dogs in families and their well-being is made up of interaction with all members; activities and games. The dog must be active and therefore we are here for the development of man-dog in the sporting field, but also for another very important aspect: that of training” (source: ENCI).
