The session
The Senate's First Standing Committee (Constitutional Affairs, Affairs of the Presidency of the Council and of the Interior, General Organization of the State and Public Administration, Publishing, Digitalization) completed its examination of Senate Bill No. 1054- B, "Provisions for the Recognition and Promotion of Mountain Areas," in its session last Monday, August 4, chaired by Senator Balboni and attended by the Hon. Calderoli, Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies, representing the Government. At the end of the session, the rapporteur, Senator Tosato, was mandated to report favorably to the Assembly on the measure, in the text approved by the Chamber of Deputies, without considering any amendments.
The favorable opinion
The bill in question, the so-called "Mountain Bill," is particularly important for the hunting community because Article 15 resolves the issue of the hunting ban on mountain passes. "With the favorable opinion of the Senate's First Committee, we have taken another important step toward approving a measure that, among other things, addresses and resolves the consequences of what is, as I have said on other occasions, a uniquely Italian anomaly within the European framework for environmental protection and management," commented Massimo Buconi, National President of Federcaccia.
Tenacity and conviction
We now confidently await the outcome of the vote in the Chamber, which has been scheduled for next Wednesday, September 10, hoping that the issue can be considered definitively resolved. This is a result that many contributed to, but which Federcaccia has pursued with tenacity and conviction from the very beginning, and to which our Legal Office has made a fundamental contribution.
