Italian Sports Day in the World
Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and Minister of Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, inaugurated the second edition of "Italian Sports Day in the World" at Villa Madama. The event was attended by CONI President Luciano Buonfiglio, CIP President Marco Marco Giunio De Sanctis, ICE President Matteo Zoppas, and numerous federal presidents. The 2025 edition is dedicated to the theme "Mountains and Sea" and precedes the major international sporting events of 2026 in Italy: the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics and the Mediterranean Games in Taranto.

Tajani's words
"Practiced sport is an instrument of peace," stated Antonio Tajani. "We remember when the US-China thaw began with ping pong diplomacy, and when wars stopped at the time of the Olympics. Then there's the economic aspect, and the sports industry represents an extraordinary tool for export growth, especially for quality products. It's important for us to work to ensure that Made in Italy products grow even in sectors that are sometimes under-valued, but which represent a great opportunity: Italy has an industrial quality in the sports sector that everyone envies us."
Important recognition
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced the appointment of eleven new sports ambassadors, including the Olympic shooting champion Niccolo Campriani who is also vice president and sports director of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Florentine, born in 1987, Campriani is closely linked to the memory of the 3 gold medals, won in the 50m rifle 3 positions (London 2012 and Rio 2016) and in the 10m air rifle (also in Rio), as well as the silver in the 10m air rifle in London (source: CONI).
