Effective but not applied models
“The management of coypu cannot proceed in a haphazard manner. Effective models have already been tested: we want to understand whyEmilia Romagna and Lombardy "We are unable to apply them uniformly." This was stated by Tommaso Fiazza, regional councilor for the League, in submitting a question to the Council. Fiazza cites the experiment conducted by the Province of Ferrara, "which demonstrated that the controlled use of non-depowered .22 caliber air rifles, with trained and authorized operators, can increase effectiveness and reduce damage, but activating this system is not immediate."
Unique safety and operational standards
"Emilia-Romagna currently suffers from significant territorial inconsistency: each province follows different procedures, with non-aligned training programs, and a lack of regional coordination to ensure consistent safety and operational standards," explains Dario Moretti, regional director of the League's Wildlife Management and Hunting Activities Department. "This fragmentation slows down interventions and complicates the replication of effective, proven models."
A unique regional course
The League therefore calls on the Regional Council "to consider establishing a single, authorized, and recognized regional course that would streamline procedures and finally provide an effective tool to address an increasingly serious emergency." "We cannot allow each region to proceed in disarray," the League representatives conclude. "To protect the riverbanks, the countryside, and the safety of citizens, we need a clear, uniform, and truly functional regional system. The trial has been conducted and it worked: now the Region must decide whether it truly wants to use it." (Source: Lega Salvini Premier ER Group Press Office)
