A spectacular final
Twelve years of waiting to return to celebrate in the Women's Trap at the Olympics. Jessica Rossi's stunning gold at London 2012 is in good company thanks to Silvana Tired who today in Chateauroux graduated as Olympic vice champion in the same specialty, playing a superlative final to say the least.
Stages of the race
It is a truly precious silver medal because the 31-year-old shooter had to surrender to an almost perfect Ruano Oliva: the Guatemalan in fact won the gold with 45 targets hit out of 50, while Stanco stopped at 40. L 'Azzurra always remained in the competition, suffering a few small missteps only after the tenth target, but confirming herself second after 30 shots, ensuring at least bronze after 35 and with the certainty of silver after 40.
Tokyo “avenged”
In the two-man final with Ruano Oliva there was no story, as the South American started with a good advantage but it still remains a medal of great prestige for Italy and for all of clay shooting. Among other things, Silvana Stanco was thus able to "avenge" her fifth place three years ago in Tokyo, certainly a bad blow in this same final which however allowed her to mature further and achieve today's splendid result.
