The podium one step away
Tammaro Cassander he placed fourth in the Olympic Men's Skeet final of the Paris 2024 Games. The Carabiniere from Capua (CE), already sixth in Tokyo 2020, once again conducted a top-level competition, but the medal slipped from his hands due to a breath. Second best at the end of the qualifications with an almost perfect 124/125 and +11 in the dorsal assignment play-off, he faced the final with a lot of determination. Targets smoked with ease, even in cases where the throws were influenced by the wind that blew on the platforms of the National Shooting Center of the French Federation today. Having passed the sixth and fifth place preliminaries brilliantly, Cassandro started the fourth rotation missing the 3 mark and disunited. With already one mistake under his belt, he lost concentration and made two more errors which forced him to fourth place.
Cassandro's words
“I'm sorry because the medal was within my reach this time – he commented at the end of the race – I arrived here full of energy and I can say I'm satisfied with the qualification, which ended with 124, the same score as Tokyo. Unfortunately it didn't go as I hoped. In Tokyo I finished sixth, here fourth...maybe I'll get silver in Los Angeles."
