Anti-hunting ideology
On the issue of mountain passes in Lombardy and on LAC's appeal rejected by the TAR The Honorable Barbara Mazzali (Forza Italia) spoke. These are the words of the former regional councilor: "Anti-hunting ideology clashes with the law. The Lombardy Regional Administrative Court, with ruling no. 02175/2026, rejected yet another attempt by the LAC (League for the Abolition of Hunting) to block hunting in our region.".
Legality has won
"LAC wanted to overturn regional resolutions that allow hunting on most mountain passes, intending to impose complete bans on as many as 475 sites. They wanted to pass off as "null" acts that actually correctly implement the new National Law no. 131/2025. The reality is that an ideology fueled by a profound hatred of hunting and hunters has been defeated by legality! Enough with the blanket appeals!".
Common sense
"While the LAC continues to flood the courts with appeals (often unfounded, as today's outcome demonstrates), the Lombardy Region demonstrates its ability to act within the bounds of legality and common sense. It's time for the LAC to begin seriously refunding legal fees to public bodies and hunting associations. It's no longer acceptable for the community and hunters to shoulder the legal costs of defending themselves from systematic ideological attacks that end in nothing. Although in this case the costs were compensated, the principle remains: those who bring unfounded legal actions must be financially accountable. I thank all the hunting associations who contributed to this outcome.".
