The breakdown in detail
Management fees have been defined for the entities that will be part of the Consortium Orbetello lagoon: 47% will go to the Ministry of the Environment, 35% to the Tuscany Region, 12% to the Municipality of Orbetello, 5% to the Province of Grosseto, and 1% to the Municipality of Monte Argentario. The distribution was decided during a meeting held on July 30th, attended by all stakeholders.
The final aspects to be clarified
"As the Tuscany Region," explained Regional Councilor for the Environment Monia Monni, "we are working diligently on drafting the Management Consortium's Bylaws, and I thank the regional bodies who, even at this very moment, are finalizing the final details that need clarification. We are awaiting the MASE's submission of the latest version, but we are confident that the amendments we outlined and shared at yesterday's meeting will be accepted."
A leap in quality
"We continue to believe," the councilor adds, "that the Management Consortium represents a quantum leap in terms of governance of the lagoon, calling upon all institutional levels to share responsibility, which we must implement as quickly as possible. All the amendment proposals presented by the Region have always aimed to build a strong Consortium capable of operating in the lagoon as quickly as possible. Today more than ever, however, it is necessary to emphasize that activities in the lagoon are currently operational thanks to funding from the Tuscany Region and a regional law that allows us to maintain essential environmental protections during this transitional period."
