Bulk sale
A notice recently appeared on the Ministry of Defense's website that couldn't fail to interest gun enthusiasts. The Defense Industries Agency, a branch of the same ministry on Via XX Settembre, has announced an auction for the bulk sale of 16.165 Beretta machine guns that once belonged to the Italian Navy . Why exactly this choice?
Still 12 days left
Given that the weapons will go to the highest bidder, these machine guns have been declared out of service. Bids are open until 10:00 AM on July 28th, while inquiries were accepted through a deadline that expired two days ago. The sale will also take place online via a dedicated platform.
The characteristics of muskets
The Beretta automatic rifles have been divided into three lots: the first, comprising 8.404 units (half the total), is held at the La Spezia Naval Arsenal, another 7.512 belong to the Taranto Arsenal, and the remaining 249 are stored in Augusta, Sicily. All will be sold without magazines: the caliber is 9 mm, with a hammer action and a capacity of 600 rounds per minute. The barrel is 32 centimeters, and the weight with an empty magazine reaches 4,2 kilograms.
