The choice of the park authority
He does not stop discussing the control plan by the Park of the Po Delta which intends to significantly reduce the number of fallow deer. The same body motivated the choice with this press release: "The intervention, at no cost for the Public Administration, implements the national guidelines issued by the Higher Institute of Environmental Protection and Research in 2013, taken from Regional wildlife-hunting plan 2018-2023 and from the regional plan for the control of fallow deer populations of Classe and Volano approved in 2021 ″, the Park Authority explains that its territory of competence represents over 90% of the areas occupied by fallow deer in the Emilia-Romagna plain, while only the remaining 10% is the responsibility of the Region ”.
The question in the Region
In the last hours the Movement 5 Stars he presented a question in the Region to block the plan. This is an initiative by the councilor Silvia Piccinini, according to which the public notice relating to fallow deer should be withdrawn and slaughter should be avoided at all costs. The pentastellate alternatives are those already heard through the mouth of animal rights and environmentalist associations, that is to say sterilization and bollards in the park.

The honorable replied to Piccinini Marco Dreosto e Massimo Casanova, MEPs of the League: "If the request is taken into consideration, it will lead to not solving the problems linked to the impact of populations that are numerically unbalanced with respect to the ecosystem; the same fallow deer population would end up suffering from the limiting effects related to density, probably ending up decayed by diseases".
