“Establishment of a technical table in the presence of ASL, Ambiente Spa, Arta e Municipality of Pescara to start monitoring the presence and spread of nutria in the city, close to the river and the ditches, where some specimens have been identified, and issuing an ordinance or measure to impose the rodent control of the construction site areas before the start of the earth moving. These are the two measures identified during the meeting of the Environment Commission which focused its attention on the environmental situation in reference to the presence of mice".

Thus, in a note, the president of the Environment Commission Ivo Petrelli formalized the outcome of the Commission which saw the presence of the director of Ambiente Spa Massimo Del Bianco and the head of the rodent control service Vittorio Viteleia.
The most critical situations
“The mouse population in Pescara is stable – underlines Petrelli -: according to Ambiente data, as in every other city, the number of rats exceeds that of the inhabitants, but with the exception of individual cases and contingent situations, we cannot speak of a real emergency. It is true that meeting a rat during a walk outside the house is never pleasant, but in any case it is not synonymous with a red alert. We have more critical situations in Porta Nuova, also because rats can often also infest plants and to date the only effective measure to combat the multiplication of the phenomenon remains the use of boxes with anticoagulant bait inside, which are inaccessible to domestic animals and usable only by mice".
