Gianluca Vignale, regional councilor of Piedmont, intervened by updating his newsletter "The double" to make known the latest initiative against local hunting. Specifically, at the end of last year the regional government provided for the prohibition of hunting for what concerns the lark, the ptarmigan and the variable hare. Seven months later it seems that he wants to try again, despite the big one demonstration of last 10 June.
Il Bill 210 in fact, it provides for an amendment to the law already in force. In this case, it was decided to extend the ban on hunting and trapping as well with pheasant and rock partridge. If the amendment were to obtain a favorable vote, Piedmont would be the only region in the European Alpine arc where typical fauna cannot be hunted.
As pointed out by Vignale, this is yet another slap in the face of the hunted, as well as one serious threat to the roots and traditions of the region. Furthermore, there is a risk of bringing the economy of the Alpine valleys to its knees, for which the presence of mountain hunters: the closure of the wildlife farms would become a reality. The regional councilor said he was ready to fight from the opposition benches to avoid a new impediment, eight fewer species in less than two years.
