Yesterday the Environment Commission of the Regional Council expressed a favorable opinion on the new regulation governing the management of wildlife in protected areas, developed by the Cota Council. The president of the V Commission, Massimiliano Motta, in fact confirmed, "A positive opinion has been given by a large majority on an important regulation that aims to rebalance the presence of the various species, with particular regard to the indigenous ones". Even the councilor for the Parks, Gian Luca Vignale, stated in his illustration to the Commission, “We have tried to find the right balance to guarantee catches, withdrawals and restocking according to the needs of the different species. Suffice it to say that last year in La Mandria Park alone, 781 wild boars were captured in cages ”. Concluding Vignale explained, “The new regulation takes into account the needs linked to the economic effects that the Region must guarantee for the damage caused by fauna in protected areas”.
